Electronic Cigarettes Stretch Across the Generational Divide

Electronic Cigarettes Stretch Across the Generational Divide

Every generation is unique in one way or another. The Baby Boomers are remembered for their “Leave It to Beaver” childhoods while Generation X is known for delaying marriage and parenthood to pursue higher education and careers. No matter which generation you belong to, there’s no doubt that you’ve at least heard about e-cigarettes. It seems that e-cigs are stretching across generational divides to unite people of all ages and the following celebrities serve as proof.

Vaping in Our 20’s – Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars is best known for hit songs like “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man”. The 27-year-old crooner is just one of the many 20-something vapers. He quit smoking and switched to e-cigarettes in May of 2013, sending out a tweet announcing his intention to give up tobacco as a Mother’s Day gift for his mom. Bruno Mars not only uses e-cigs, but he backs them financially as an investor for NJOY. Like many other smokers from his generation, he made the decision to abandon tobacco and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

Vaping in Our 30’s – Britney Spears

Who can forget Britney Spears and her debut into the music industry as a teen star? She started her career with songs like “Hit Me Baby One More Time” and “Oops I Did It Again”. But eventually, her music career and seemingly her entire life would careen off track. Eventually after some rocky relationships and having two children, Britney was coined “Puff Mommy” by tabloids. The pet name was invented after she was seen smoking almost constantly with her young children present. There were even photographs of her young sons playing with her cigarette packs. Thankfully, 31-year-old Britney wised up and switched to electronic cigarettes. Like many other 30-something adults, she realized the dangerous effects of smoking and gave it up for good.

Vaping in Our 40’s – Courtney Love

Courtney Love is undeniably famous and best known for her wild performances as part of 90’s music group “Hole”. Of course rock and roll was basically synonymous with cigarettes in the 1990’s so of course, Courtney Love was a smoker. But all that changed when she discovered e-cigarettes. Not only does this 49-year-old superstar use e-cigs, but she is also featured in a new ad for NJOY, where she promotes the e-cig brand.

Vaping in Our 50’s – Dennis Quaid

Dennis Quaid makes 59 look amazing, doesn’t he? Maybe his secret to looking young involves giving up tobacco! Quaid was spotted using an e-cig while filming “Beneath the Darkness” and he’s been photographed vaping several times since. He’s best remembered for his roles in 80’s movies like “The Big Easy” and “Something to Talk About”. But he has also starred in recent clicks like “Soul Surfer” and “Playing for Keeps”.

Vaping in Our 60’s – Barry Manilow

Barry Manilow might be 69 years old, but that hasn’t caused this music legend to slow down one bit! He is famous for songs like “Mandy” and “Copacabana” and he still performs for packed out theaters on a regular basis. In a recent interview, Manilow talked about his long history with cigarettes. He admitted to smoking for 30 years and puffing on his first cigarette at age nine. Despite years of smoking three packs a day, he managed to kick the habit for 15-20 years before recently picking it up again during a visit to Las Vegas. In order to deal with his old habit before it got out of control again, he turned to e-cigarettes. Now, he’s smoke-free once again. Like many smokers in their 60’s, Manilow is making deliberate efforts to avoid risky tobacco addiction. E-cigarettes are a perfect solution.
